Melissa McCartney’s practice is devoted to advocating for medical providers, representing solo chiropractic physicians, multidisciplinary practices, diagnostic facilities, and billing companies in the pursuit of the proper payment of No Fault benefits
Ms. McCartney is uniquely qualified to take on insurers; for the first five years of her career, she represented insurance companies, handling cases of personal injury, construction deficit litigation, and no-fault litigation. Soon her practice became weighted to almost 90% no-fault litigation as she handled its entire scope from assignment of the case from the insurer through final judgment. Often defending insurers in cases regarding all aspects of Florida’s No Fault Statute, Ms. McCartney litigated hundreds of cases. Her expertise was called upon to lecture at seminars, educating her insurer clients on the No Fault Statute, from how to handle a PIP claim to the 2007 No Fault Sunset Revisions, and the subsequent changes to the Statute made by Florida’s legislature in 2008.
Ms. McCartney’s decision to “switch sides” means she passionately works to recover what medical providers and insured people are owed under the No Fault statutes and the insurance policies. In addition to medical providers, Ms. McCartney represents individuals who have outstanding bills due to the non-payment of No Fault benefits. This is a rarity Hicks & Motto can offer, as Ms. McCartney focuses on making sure an insureds’ No-Fault benefits are paid to all medical and care providers, as well as lost wages and other liens.
